Participation
29 Nov - 02 Dec 2024, Licola, Vic
Participation, collaboration, creativity, community and fun
The key to making this a truly immersive and interactive event is participation. The more involved you get the more you scope there is for a totally unique, wildly fun and potentially transformative time.
- Before the festival: familiarise yourself with the theme. Plan some costumes, personas, or get a crew together and live out your pop star wannabe dreams in Battle of bands.
- Submit a newspaper article to this year Zine magazine.
- Prepare your BYO mailbox.
- At the festival: Let your imagination go wild and immerse yourself in our little world.
- After the festival: Ride the wave of positive energy that your conscious connecting has created. See how you can integrate your experiences into your everyday life.
Characters
This year The Town will be set in the glory days of 1990s. Rewind to a time before tech addiction, rich with fresh music, punk attitudes and businesses that thought they’d last forever.

We have a postal system at The Town – send and receive letters to other residents – but you’ll need to BYO Letterbox.

Community Zine 1990-1999
Zines were huge in the ‘90s, and we’re bringing that vibe back to The Town! Send in artwork, poetry, comics, anecdotes, fan pieces, or even wedding vowels from past Town events. You can also share puzzles, jokes, or advertise pop-up events happening this year.
Keep it family-friendly and inclusive. No AI content—stick to the ‘90s feel! Most submissions will be black and white, but the best coloured works will be featured on the back cover.
Zines will be delivered to mailboxes at The Town!
Send your entries to culturejamzine@gmail.com by Friday, November 8th.
