THE TOWN: Sustainability Report.
The entire waste of the 1000 people on site was two skips worth. Plus around 2 cubic meters of compost, that was composted on-site.
I really feel the more humble approach taken on at The Town with walk in camping, car-pooling, less trashy-ness and less consumption and waste, shows that less can be more, and is a massive achievement for the collective. I was really scared it may fall apart with the walk-in camping and rubbish bags not making their way back to cars but every suburb was spotless!
Thankyou so much to all the residents, our mail-team and Lucy our Waste Manager and her amazing Sustainability team heart emoticon
To me this is where it is at, parties being mirrors of how we can live wiser, healthier and more fulfilled in the real world, opposed to them being a reflection of the excessiveness of consumption that drives the city life. I think the proof was in the pudding. Town-life was humble, clean, cute-as-fuck, and full of naturally beaming people!
Huge love to you all, we totally proved that we deserve to be partying in paradises like this, and this gives us incredible ground-work for getting the wheels in motion for next year.
Thanks team, Leaf No Trace 😉
